FAQs

  • How do you print a 36 inch by 24 inch document?
A local print or copy shop that has a large format plotter should be able to print large documents. A printer near me will print for $6. In theory it's possible to print multiple 8 1/2 by 11 pages on a home printer and piece them together, but I've never tried it.
  • When I download a plan a new window opens and I see the plan, but the plan is not downloaded to my computer. What should I do?"
A new window should open which displays the plan using a PDF reader. From this window you can then download the plan to your computer. At this time, the website does not support a direct download of a PDF and it must go through the intermediary step of being opened in a PDF viewer.
  • The plan is not to scale when printed?
    1. You need to be sure you are printing at 100% scale. Do not print using the "fit to size" setting. 2. I've found that each printer (even some of the large commercial plotters) can introduce small errors. You should be able to achieve within 1/32 of an inch or greater accuracy over a 12 inch distance with a plotter.
